Yachting Solutions is seeking a Merchandising Coordinator to expand their services and enter the retail world. Working under the direction of the CEO and the Marketing Director, the Merchandising Coordinator will be responsible for product introduction, purchase coordination, and fulfillment.

Our vision is to develop, design and manage an online store. We are looking for someone with a dynamic drive and creativity to spearhead this division along with our Marketing Director. We envision opening a retail location in Rockport, Maine, and a roving retail platform to be present at convention type environments and boat shows.

The Merchandising Coordinator will be responsible for establishing vendor relationships, negotiating contracts and building a yacht style boutique product line that our customers so desire and need. You will also aid the Marketing Director with the selection of company logo wear, promotional items, and yachting products. Apparel design and fashion industry experience is a major plus. You’ll need to be a team player and comfortable taking on projects outside of your job descriptions to assist the overall project as needed. You will show your ability to commit to process improvement and foster new ideas to promote team growth. You will be able to show your ability to manage conflicting priorities, thrive in ambiguity, and take on ad-hoc projects in stride to meet the needs of an ever-changing business.

KEY SKILLS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent with 5+ years of directly related experience or a college degree with 3 years of experience is required
  • Prior experience with project management/coordination and familiarity with project management methodologies and tools required
  • Ability to clearly communicate with multiple levels of the organization a must. Proficient in MS Office products including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Prior merchandising experience
  • Must be highly organized/detail oriented, able to handle conflicting priorities and thrive in ambiguity
  • Solid communication skills: ability to partner with coworkers at all levels of the organization and flex style accordingly
  • Persistence: to track down any pending items independently to gather all information needed to succeed
  • Sense of urgency: time management skills, ability to react positively to constant change
  • Initiative: Approaches problem solving not only by identifying issues, but by coming up with actionable solutions with a positive attitude
  • Overall merchandising reset calendar in assigned division(s); responsible for the communication of product launch timing, reset scope and device life-cycle
  • Collaborates dealers to effectively execute merchandising resets
  • Communicates merchandising strategies to the Marketing Director and executive leadership for alignment and approval
  • Additional duties and responsibilities, within these roles, as assigned
