Born and raised on the shore of Long Island, New York, life-long sailor Chris Keenan went from high school directly to Maine Maritime Academy, where he earned a degree in Marina & Boat Yard Management. After graduation he crewed on Young America, the 1995 America’s Cup defender, and then joined the marine industry, working for or on Grand Banks, Hatteras, Cabo, Jupiter and Sabre yachts before launching his own company.
“I’ve known Bill Morong, Yachting Solutions’ co-founder and owner, ever since college, and we’ve worked together on a number of business projects. We agreed it would be a good fit to help support the Nimbus brand from our base in Connecticut. I also own and operate The Essex Marine Group, where we provide service and support for Nimbus boats.”
Chris’s wife and their three children also enjoy the boating lifestyle and are avid skiers too. “At least in the warmer months, when I’m not working I’m usually running all around southern New England on our 30-foot Grady White.”
