Overview
Northern Spy is truly a one of a kind yacht that turns heads everywhere she goes. Yachting Solutions has done an incredible job on this truly unique "Resto-Mod" project! She is widely recognized through numerous awards and extensive media coverage. Having an extensive refit in 2010, she has been a joy to the current owner and is ready to be the pride and joy of the next owner.
During her restoration and modification, she was the first yacht to receive a factory authorized repower using the Volvo Penta IPS Drive System. With Joy Stick docking control and Dynamic Positioning, she is a pleasure to drive and has a real hot rod feel for a boat this size. With 600 plus HP at your disposal, she turns on a dime and handles like a dream.
Her engine room is outfitted with details including hard stainless plumbing and stainless braid hoses, diamond plate sole and fully enclosed wire chases that give a very clean appearance. The hydraulic engine hatch reveals a jaw-dropping presentation of an extremely well thought out engine space.
All other systems have been updated at that time and diligently maintained. Other notable upgrades include- new and updated air conditioning system, new hydronic heating system, domestic hot water provided by either electric from the heating system or from an engine heat exchanger. New refrigeration, all new electronics and autopilot, custom Palm Beach controls and a Hookah dive compressor with a retractable hose. A Lithium-ion battery system with enough inverter power to run any system you like. A new Kohler generator (just last season), all new plumbing and all new or updated wiring.
Structurally, the entire bottom, frames and keel and stem have been replaced. An integrated reinforced epoxy structure has been laminated into the hull to support the Volvo Penta IPS drive systems. Interior joinery has been updated and refinished.
