Overview

Popularly known as the Baba 35, this traditionally styled full-keel double ender  from the drawing board of Robert Perry.   Soteria was built by Ta Shing in Taiwan, and these boats are known for their seakeeping, comfortable accommodations and good sailing characteristics. Soteria has benefited from numerous upgrades under current ownership.

Descriptions

Construction:

Hull: Laminated fiberglass with a full keel, double-end design with faux plank seams. The hull is stiffened with tabbed plywood bulkheads and laminated ribs. Keel: Encapsulated ballast, 8000lbs reported

Decks: Laminated fiberglass with a wood (type unknown) core. The deck is covered with a teak overlay. The cockpit is integral with the deck unit and has two scuppers teed to a single ball valve, above waterline. 

 Cabin/House: Laminated fiberglass with a wood core and molded non-skid, integral with the deck. 

 Rudder and Steering: Fiberglass and foam cored blade with a stainless post, supported on a bronze heel fitting. The post enters through a fiberglass tube with flex hose coupler and a bronze gland. There is an upper bearing. Wheel to wire steering with an emergency tiller stored.

Accommodations:

Sea green ultrasuede berth cushions; accommodations for 5-6 with a very comfortable layout including oiled teak interior and varnished teak and holly sole. Chain locker forward followed by vee berths with a filler, and hatch overhead. Next aft is an enclosed head to port with dual access doors with a new W.C. with new hoses, sink, shower, and marble counter top. Opposite the head is a seat with hanging locker behind. Main salon has port and starboard settees, a drop leaf teak table, teak butterfly hatch overhead, numerous lockers, bookshelves and drawers. Dickinson "Newport" charcoal/wood cabin heat stove, mounted on starboard main cabin bulkhead. Further aft to starboard is a nav table and quarter berth, and wet locker. To port is a U-shaped galley with numerous lockers. Access to the engine is under the companionway sole.

 Propane stove/oven new in 2018. Hot and cold pressure water system (new water hoses). Dual S/S sinks.

Autohelm ST 5000 autopilot.

Garmin GPS Map 210.

5" Ritchie powerdamp compass.

 Standard Horizon Intrepid VHF. with RAM mic

Questus mount on backstay.

Cutter rig w/ 2018 Bohndell mainsail with a Dutchman flaking system, 2000 Yankee jib by Doyle, 1996 staysail reworked in 2018. New 2009 Cruising gennaker with sock, by Sperry Sails, Marion, MA. Schaefer 2100 Roller furling system. Mast stepped on keel. Barient winches and aluminum spinnaker pole. Mainsheet traveler, mounted forward of Dodger. S/S inboard sail tracks and tracks mounted on trunk cabin.
